RezeptSuite Cloud and Android app: print using a template

Template-based recipe printing is included in Cloud Basic and Plus. The current Android app uses the Android system print dialog; in a web browser, a print function must be available.

  1. Open the recipe in your collection and set the portion size you want.
  2. Select the print icon. RezeptSuite prepares the recipe using the stored A4 print template and adjusted ingredient quantities, then opens the browser or Android print dialog.
  3. Select an available printer and start printing. Whether “Save as PDF” is also available depends on your browser or Android print service.

RezeptSuite uses the template assigned to the recipe, falling back to your default template or the general default template. Printing cannot be prepared without a usable template. Cloud and Android do not offer a layout editor; creating your own templates in the Desktop application is explained below.

A recipe opened via a shared link in a browser uses the page’s print view rather than the stored template. The template-based process above applies to recipes in your collection when you are signed in.

RezeptSuite Desktop: print and design layouts

In the Desktop print dialog, you can select the printer and edit the print layout. The following screenshots and editing features apply exclusively to RezeptSuite Desktop.

By clicking on the PDF icon, you have the option to save the template as a PDF file. The file can be printed using another PDF program.

By clicking the edit icon, you start the editing mode.

Print layout

When designing the layout, there are five fixed boxes. These can only be added once, and the text cannot be changed.

  • Ingredients
  • Recipe image
  • Preparation
  • Details

As well as three variable boxes. These can be added as many times as you like. The content can be freely designed.

  • Image Box
  • Text box
  • Color Box

Design options

The individual elements (boxes) can be freely adjusted in size, position, and angle. To do this, select the box with the mouse; the selected box will be displayed with a blue border. By clicking the close icon ->, the box can be removed. The five fixed boxes can be added again by clicking them in the left sidebar. If several elements overlap, you can switch the selected box by double-clicking.

Position and Size

By holding down the mouse button on the selected box, you can freely position it. By holding down the mouse button on the resize symbol -> you can change the size of the selected box.

Font, font size, and font color

All boxes with text content can have their font, font size, and color changed. To do this, select a box and then change the font, size, and color at the top.

Background color

Color boxes have the property of highlighting certain areas with a different background color. The color can be changed at the top after selecting a color box. Note: Color boxes are always at the lowest level; to select them, you may need to move boxes that are on top!
