Import Recipes

By clicking on Import in the top bar, you will be taken to the import view of RezeptSuite
Recipes can be imported both from files and directly from websites.
Importing recipes from websites
RezeptSuite includes a fully functional internet browser. With this browser, you can view websites as usual.

Individual pages are listed as favorites in the left sidebar. A website can be saved as a new favorite page by clicking the
star icon to the right of the address bar.

To import a recipe from a website, you need to highlight the individual recipe elements (name, ingredients, preparation, etc.) and then confirm them using the appropriate button. RezeptSuite automatically detects any images present on the page; these can be kept or removed in the next step.
Clicking Apply takes you to the editing view for the recipe to be imported. Here, you can categorize the recipe and complete or correct any possible information.
Import from files
RezeptSuite supports importing the two most common exchange formats, "MealMaster" and "CookML." RezeptSuite automatically detects the format and adds the recipes one by one.
Only new recipes are added to the database; if a recipe with a specific name already exists in the database, it will be skipped. If a new recipe does not have a category, one will be created automatically.
In a progress dialog, the most recently added recipe is displayed. If there are any issues during import, the last displayed recipe can be used as a reference point. The most common causes of import problems are incorrectly formatted files or invalid character strings. RezeptSuite attempts to display the problem in an error message. The file must be manually corrected with a text editor before further import.
